Our aim is to make the Yamagata Prefectural Museum an "Open Museum" which is friendly to all people in the prefecture. To help realize that intention, we have help from many volunteers who have been meeting the broad needs of visitors since 1996. Forty to fifty volunteers guide visitors around the museum and also offer interpreting services.
