Established to commemorate the achievements of Horin Fukuoji, a painter in the Japanese style, and a native of Yonezawa. Displayed are many of Fukuoji's paintings, who received the Order of Cultural Merit in 2004 for his art, based on his lifework, the "Himalayas Series" of paintings.
