Bunkyo-no-mori Nagai, Marudai-ogiya and Kozo Naganuma Sculpture Museum
The sculptor Kozo Naganuma was born into a family whose kimono business has a history stretching back 300 years. The Naganuma residence is now a prefecturally designated cultural property. You can trace life in the old days by touring the main building, the okura earthen storehouse and the garden. The sculpture gallery was built in one corner of the estate, and there you can see the supple, simple curves which compose Naganuma's sculptures.
