Tendo Municipal Former Higashi-Murayama County Office Building Museum
The building the museum occupies was constructed in 1879 as a county office. It is one of the oldest preserved western-style buildings constructed in the Meiji era in Yamagata Prefecture, and is designated a tangible cultural property by the prefecture. Emperor Meiji used this building during his trip to Tohoku. Articles related to Tendo from the end of the Edo period, the Meiji period and the Taisho period are displayed.
