This is one of the oldest private museums in Japan. Ceramics from China, Korea and Japan are displayed, including national important cultural properties and art treasures of Japan. There are many masterpieces, such as the world famous gourd-shaped vase decorated with paintings of flying phoenixes. The museum building itself is also a nationally designated registered tangible cultural property.
